How can we help?
Answers to common questions about swaps, networks, timing and refunds. Can't find yours? Write to us.
Before you swap
No. You don't have to sign up, set a password or connect a wallet. You only need the address that will receive your coins and a refund address. Keep your order link: it's how you follow your swap. An account is optional, but with one you earn points for every exchange and pay less of our fee as you move up the levels (Bay → Harbor → Ocean).
No. Your deposit goes to a one-time address created for your order. The swap protocol exchanges the coins and sends them straight to your address. Our fee is taken inside the swap, so your coins never pass through a BayChange wallet.
Many coins live on more than one blockchain, called a network. USDT, for example, exists on Tron (TRC-20) and Ethereum (ERC-20). Pick the network your receiving wallet supports. When you send, use the same network as your deposit address. Coins sent on a different network can be lost. More about networks.
One total, shown before you send. It includes our fee (0.5% to 0.9%, depending on the pair), the protocol fee and the network costs of the deposit and the payout. The amount under “You get” already has all of them taken off. How fees work.
Yes. Each coin has a minimum, shown in the form before you start. Always send at least that much: amounts below the minimum can't be swapped and, because of how the protocol works, can't be returned. Fixed network costs also make very small swaps expensive.
We don't serve people or addresses in countries under comprehensive sanctions, and we may limit access in other places where local law requires it. The rules are in our Terms of use.
Sending your coins
Yes. Withdraw to your deposit address and choose the same network as on your order. Some exchanges take their withdrawal fee out of the amount you enter, so check that what arrives is still above the minimum. For the refund address, use a wallet you control, not an exchange deposit address.
If it's above the minimum, the swap still goes ahead for the amount that arrives, at the market rate at that moment, and you get more or less to match. If the rate has moved too far from your quote, the coins go back to your refund address instead.
Each deposit address works for a limited time, shown on your order page. Don't send to an expired address: the deposit may not be picked up. If it already happened, email us your order number and the transaction link right away. We'll check with the protocol what can be done, but we can't promise the funds can be recovered.
Before you send, yes: just close the page and nothing happens. Once your deposit is on its way, the swap runs on its own and can't be stopped. If it can't complete, you get a refund to your refund address.
After you send
Most swaps finish 5 to 30 minutes after your deposit arrives. Bitcoin is slower, because each block takes about 10 minutes and the deposit needs confirmations. An exchange withdrawal can add its own wait before the coins even leave.
Open the order link you got when you started the swap. The page updates on its own and shows each step. Lost the link? Go to Track an order and enter your order number. It looks like BC-48213-7KQ2.
If the swap can't complete, for example because the rate moved too far or the deposit didn't pass the protocol's checks, the coins go back to the refund address you gave. The network cost of sending them back is taken off. We can't send refunds to any other address, so check it before you start.
Open the deposit link on your order page: if the transaction still needs confirmations, the swap waits for them. If nothing has changed for more than an hour, contact us with your order number.
Safety and rules
Before we give you a deposit address, we check your receiving and refund addresses against public sanctions lists and the blocklists of stablecoin issuers. If an address is on a list, we can't create the order. The check takes a second and needs nothing from you.
No. We will never ask for your recovery phrase, wallet keys or passwords, and we never ask you to send extra coins to “unlock” a swap. Our only support address is on the contact page.
